Tae Kim is a member of Capital One Financial (COF) Corporation’s cyber intelligence team. In this role, he is a senior manager responsible for contextualizing the cyber threat landscape for COF’s Board, CISO, and lines of business. The team observes and analyzes cyber threats ranging from cyber criminals to advanced persistent threats (APTs).
Prior to joining COF, Kim spent more than 11 years collecting and analyzing cyber intelligence in the U.S. Intelligence Community. As a subject matter expert, he contributed to finished intelligence products and briefings on cyber issues. Kim co-founded an inter-agency working group on APTs and frequently spoke at high-level meetings and conferences on cyber topics. Prior to his work on cyber intelligence, Kim was an intelligence officer at the Central Intelligence Agency.
Kim is a CISSP and holds a graduate degree from Boston University and two bachelor degrees from the University of California, San Diego.
