Kirk Soluk manages the ASERT Threat Intelligence and Response Team at Arbor Networks. With reverse engineering at its core and Internet-scale malware processing and research systems, ASERT delivers the ATLAS Intelligence Feed (AIF) along with human-readable threat intelligence arming Arbor Customers with tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence. The team also provides “buck stops here” escalation support for the world’s largest DDoS attacks and develops applicable countermeasures based on this hands-on operational experience.
Prior to joining Arbor, Soluk spent 11 years at Microsoft working on operating system security enhancements and security management tools. Subsequently, he spent nine years designing, instantiating, and running the security program at the University of Michigan. Soluk holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of Michigan, a master’s degree in computer science from Michigan State and is the primary inventor on three security-related patents.
